Seasons & the calendar

Everything in the game runs on a seasonal rhythm. A season is a full competition calendar followed by an off-season, and understanding that cycle is how you plan more than one move ahead.

A season plays out across the World Tour — a run of regular meet days, three qualification-based championship days, and a season-ending Playoffs. Days advance automatically on a schedule, so the game keeps moving whether or not you’re logged in: set your training and competition plans, and check back in to adjust.

Clubs are grouped into divisions and compete against the others in their division all season long. Every counted result adds to your division points, and those points build a league table.

Where you finish matters twice over:

  • Promotion and relegation — do well and you climb toward the top division; fall short and you drop. Division 1 is the summit, and staying there is a challenge in itself.
  • Prize money — your final standing pays out credits at the end of the season, with the top of stronger divisions earning the most.

Between seasons comes a reset. Broadly:

  • Athletes age a year — nudging the young toward their peak and the old toward decline and retirement.
  • Form resets — everyone starts the new season rusty and has to build sharpness again from scratch.
  • Season bests reset, while career personal bests and records carry over — your history stays with you.
  • Fresh talent arrives through the draft and your academy, giving you the chance to reload before the next campaign.

The best clubs plan on a multi-season horizon. This season’s results ride on the athletes at their peak now; next season’s ride on the youngsters you’re developing today. Balancing the two — competing hard while still building for the future — is what turns a good season into a lasting dynasty.

That’s the core of how Athletics Manager works. From here, the best teacher is a season of your own — head to the game and start building.
